The Computer Science Minor is offered by the Department of Computer Science and Digital Forensics to prepare non-major students, advancing their ability to collect, process, analyze, and present data effectively. The minor trains students to solve/automate different computational problems using their preferred programming language. The Computer Science minor enhances the marketability of non-major students' degrees since computers are used in every life venue.

Students wishing to add the Computer Science minor should take one of the following pathways:

  • Pathway 1
    • CMSC 120: Object-Oriented Programming with Java.
    • CMSC 130: Graphical User Interfaces in Java.
    • +11 additional elective credits from the Computer Science major as explained in this proposal and the minor map.
  • Pathway 2
    • CMSC 120: Object-Oriented Programming with Java.
    • CMSC 115: Python Programming.
    • CMSC 215: Advanced Python.
    • +9 additional elective credits from the Computer Science major as explained in this proposal and the minor map.
